Jordon is a key part of the team at Nuneaton Signs, bringing steady attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a real commitment to doing things properly. He has grown into a trusted member of the Despatch area. Jordon is known for taking care of each and every order he works on. He wraps signs in protective bubble wrap, packs them securely, weighs parcels, and organises items on racks when orders are large or oversized—always with the aim of preventing damage and getting orders out efficiently.
Colleagues have encouraged Jordon to take things one step at a time, and that advice has stuck. He believes there are no shortcuts when it comes to quality, whether that means properly packaging signs or ensuring processes are followed.
Jordon also assists our administration team with organising the paperwork. Thanks to his keen attention to detail, this role has contributed to our team’s organisation and efficiency. His careful approach guarantees that essential documents are always properly filed and readily accessible when required.
Jordon also takes recycling seriously and helps the team stay on track with responsible waste handling. Jordon said, “I like to make sure everything is more safe for the environment, because if we put all the cardboard and plastics into the general waste bin, not only will it be contaminated, but also a waste!” Jordon explained how cardboard is separated into the cardboard trolley, plastics are sorted into mixed recycling, food waste is kept for the food waste bin, and anything that cannot be recycled goes into general waste.
When Jordon found out only 0.3% of last year’s waste went to general waste while the rest was all recycled, Jordon said, “I think that’s quite clever, lovely jubbly!”
Before starting, Jordon visited the workplace at the weekend to get a feel for the environment, then completed a week-long job trial. He started with a part-time schedule of two days a week for six weeks to build confidence and gain experience before transitioning to full-time work.

Jordon’s journey began here in April 2021. With support from his mum and stepfather, he found an opportunity at Nuneaton Signs that felt like the right fit. He values the business’s understanding of different needs and its support for colleagues with autism and other disabilities. Jordon said, “Other businesses should do this because people need help, and it’s not very fair if they don’t get this help.”
Working alongside other people with disabilities has also shaped Jordon’s perspective. He has seen how the right support can help people improve their communication, confidence, and practical skills, and how understanding neurodiversity can make a real difference to wellbeing at work. What Jordon enjoys most about working at Nuneaton Signs is the people. He likes meeting different colleagues, chatting during breaks, and being there to help when someone has a problem. For him, a good workplace is one where everyone looks out for each other.
Jordon has also taken on a mentoring role for our Supporting Interns and Work Experience, “showing them the ropes” so they can understand what work is really like. Jordon focuses on building good habits, such as keeping people on task, encouraging focus, and helping the students gain practical experience that can support them in employment.
Jordon shared with our Fire Marshals that when he was younger, he dreamed of becoming a firefighter. Since that did not happen, the team still wanted to support his dream and instead trusted him with fire safety checks. This has been one of Jordon’s proudest moments at work. It mattered to him because it was a practical way to help keep everyone safe. As part of his weekly checks, Jordon ensures all fire extinguishers, alarms, blankets, and exit doors are up to date and in good working order. If not, he notifies the QSHE Lead and does a fantastic job at chasing it up.
Last year, Jordon suggested supporting Children in Need. He encouraged his colleagues to wear yellow or spotted clothing to raise funds for a cause he cares about. We also had a bake sale, successfully raising £159.80! This small act really shows what he brings to the workplace: initiative, kindness, and a commitment to helping others. It’s wonderful to see that these qualities shine through at home as well. In his spare time, Jordon enjoys spending time with his family, including playing with his family dog, Milly! He is also very creative and enjoys painting. Jordon also enjoys staying active with swimming and jogging/running.
Since 2023, Jordon has participated in a swimathon to support Marie Curie, an incredible cause very meaningful to him and his family. Recently, he completed his third swimathon, raising £160. Congratulations, Jordon!
Jordon initially worked part-time before gradually transitioning to full-time. It took him some time to adjust from sitting at a desk, as he did in college, to standing for extended periods. Tracy, Jordon’s mother, recalls him returning home tired from standing at work. It was a gradual process for him to adapt. After becoming a full-time employee at Nuneaton Signs, Jordon’s confidence has increased. He also strives to be more independent outside of work. He and his friends took a coach alone to and from Chester Zoo and planned a few days away at Center Parcs, enjoying their time together.
Jordon’s story highlights how patience, encouragement, and the right opportunities can make a difference. He takes pride in his daily responsibilities and actively supports colleagues, interns, and workplace safety. His example demonstrates the value of each individual when given the opportunity to succeed. We are proud to have Jordon on our team and look forward to witnessing his growing confidence and accomplishments.
